Sixth Form students at Corelli College Co-operative Academy were once again celebrating a bumper crop of A Level outcomes. The Academy succeeded in achieving a 99% pass rate at A Level securing students’ dreams of studying at university.
Alice Lavery can celebrate with three straight A grades in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry before going on to study Biomedical Science at University, Jack Brook achieved two A grades and a B grade in Maths, Further Maths and Sociology. Other notable achievements include Asia – Marie Caesar (A,A,B), Arielle Caesar (A, A, B), Max Oxley (A, B, B), Benjamin Schlanker (A, B, B) and Georgina Uwaifo (A, A, C).
A Level subjects which performed particularly well include Anthropology, Chemistry, The Extended Project, History, Maths, Further Maths, Languages, Media and Sociology.
The Level 3 BTEC Diplomas in Applied Science, Music and IT reached new heights with a whole host of A* and A grades. In Applied Science 90% of the students achieved A* – A grades. Students who have made the grade include Osondu Onebunne (A*, A, A, B) who will be studying Physio Cardiology at Swansea University, Abdinasir Mahamud (A, A, B, B) who will be studying Audiology, Moses James (A*, A*, A) and Anisha Gurung (A, A, A). Osondu said ‘ I am so pleased with my results and I want to thank the College for all their support and for the staff who genuinely care about you’. All of the vocational students were successful in their course outcomes and as a result their future looks bright.
Academy Principal, Zara Tippey, commented ‘I am delighted for our students that their commitment and hard work, along with the support from their teachers, has been rewarded. So many will now be able to pursue their chosen courses at a university of their choice, and others have an extremely strong start in the workplace. Congratulations to all our students.’
